Healing Relaxation
Published in Paperback by Trafalgar Square (April, 1999)
Average review score:

The Beauty and Simplicity of simply relaxing!I read this book with interest and found it to be a very helpful and systematic guide to the simple yet elusive art of relaxation. For many of us in this modern world relaxation is what we most need and yet what we find most difficult to apply.
The value of this book is the clarity and accessibility of Edie's approach so that one can apply her understanding of relaxtion in a very practical and immediate way to one's life.
It contains a series of exercises that are accomponied by diagrams to clarify her explanation.
It also draws upon a synthesis of Eastern and Western approaches to mind and healing which is a dymanic theme in this modern world on how to live one's life in a wholesome and balanced way.
I would recommend this book to anyone seeking a clear, step-by-step approach to relaxation and its healing value.

Horses Don't Lie : the magic of horse whispering
Published in Paperback by Great Plains Publications (01 October, 1998)
Average review score:

Makes me want to re-read every word. This book really touched me. The way Chris Irwin describes so sincerely his own experience and the life changing force horses had in his own life really inspired me, and made me remember what my dreams are. Although I thought this book would include more technical stuff, like how to aproach a horse, or how to know what to do when he's angry or scared, in the end, I didn't miss it at all. Why? Well, this book made me realize that the relationship you develop with every horse is unique, and every single horse has its own stuff to teach you. Loved the chapter about Etiquette... Even made me cry! Great book.

I Be Somebody
Published in School & Library Binding by Atheneum (September, 1984)
Average review score:

I Be SomebodyThe book "I Be Somebody" written by Hadley Irwin is about a 9 year old boy who has to deal with racial discrimination. His name is Rap. Rap lives with his Aunt Spicy. Times were hard where they lived, because of segregation and the depression. Then they heard about a place called Athabasca, Canada, in church. Things weren't bad there. So then they decided to move there to get away from it all.
This book was really good because I learned more about what blacks had to go through during the time of segregation. This book was also really good because it was understandable and was written from a kid point of view. This book is good for boys and girls 13 years old and younger. I really liked this book. I gave it 5 stars out of 5.

The Imagination of an Insurrection: Dublin, Easter 1916
Published in Paperback by Lindisfarne Books (December, 1982)
Average review score:

ExcellentI chose to read this book for a university history class where we had to find a book and make a presentation on HOW the book was written and presented rather than the history that was in the book. Thompason did a marverlous job at letting the public know what exactly happened during the uprising of Bloody Sunday 1916. I recommend this book to everyone and anyone interested in the politics of the time.

Intellectual Adventure of Ancient Man: An Essay on Speculative Thought in the Ancient Near East
Published in Paperback by University of Chicago Press (April, 1977)
Average review score:

An examination into Mythopoeic truthThe collection of essays in this book are by far brilliant examinations with fit evidence. It is great for the reader interested in Ancient religions of Egypt and Mesopotamia, it provides fundamental views on ancient mans perspective of the world, gods, and himself from myth. This is not a text book, nor a history book but it does provide adequate literary evidence and footnotes. I wish I had read this before studying ancient philosophy, it would have greatly helped my understanding of the mind of these ancients. It's amazing to read about the development of mans theories through mythopoeic tales. Well worth it for the Philosophy-, religion- or ancient studies - student. Or if you really enjoy myths, find out how man came about with these stories. Covers Egyptian, Babylonian and Assyrian (in some detail) and Mesopotamian thought and myth.
